I can confidently say that this past year or so at St Marylebone School has been one of challenges, exhilaration and success. November 2007 saw the arrival of the long-awaited OFSTED inspection team, and we were all delighted with their findings - St Marylebone has been officially recognised as an outstanding school. Well done to all the pupils and staff whose unremitting hard work and attitude have produced this most pleasing result!
I am also very happy to report that our new arts block is finally complete, and we have spent an exciting year exploring and benefiting from this wonderful new, RIBA award-winning space. We are now looking forward to the gradual refurbishment of the whole school, commencing with the English and ICT classrooms which were ready for us in September. Hopefully our new building at Blandford Street will be the icing on the cake.
Amidst all this change and readjustment, our pupils have continued to flourish and succeed. Our examination results remain exceptionally high, and our extracurricular achievements have been particularly pleasing.
I do hope you enjoy looking through the website to get a flavour of life at St. Marylebone.

The Chair of Governors, Margaret Mountford, writes:
- At last! The opening of the new arts block and sports hall. Fully operational from the start of the year, the award-winning new facilities have made a tremendous difference to teachers and students of art, music, dance, drama and PE.
- And more developments are underway: a brand new building at Blandford Street, not just for the 6th form but with new spaces for Design and Technology, new Science labs and much more, which is scheduled to be completed in 2009. Plus much-needed improvements to the older buildings on the main High Street site.
- More excellent results at GCSE, A/S and A-level. 95 percent A* to C at GCSE (83% including English and Maths) (estimated) and pupils averaging over 3 Grade Bs at A-Level.
- The Goethe Institute, recognising the quality of languages teaching in the school, is funding St Marylebone to work with it on a 3-year project to encourage the learning of German.
- Young Enterprise's 'Frankie says Recycle' bags proved that you can grow a successful business and be environmentally aware!
- Closer links developed with St Marylebone Church: the associate rector, Father Paul Thomas is the new school chaplain, and choral and organ scholarships promote the links through music too.
- More sports success as St Marylebone is 2nd in Westminster athletics.
- 'An extraordinary school,' said the OFSTED inspectors last November (2007), "Outstanding in every way."
